A young motorcyclist was injured after a stray kite string slit his neck near the Muslim Town Bridge in Lahore, prompting swift action from Lahore Police.

According to the police spokesperson, the victim, identified as Abubakar, was riding his motorcycle when a cut kite string suddenly wrapped around his neck, leaving him injured. He was immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital, where doctors said his condition is now out of danger.

Following the incident, DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran took strict notice and issued a show-cause notice to the SHO Garden Town over alleged negligence. He also directed all SHOs across the city to ensure strict enforcement against kite flying.

The DIG ordered SP Model Town to conduct an inquiry into the incident and take action against officers found responsible for negligence.

Police officials said all station house officers have been instructed to intensify operations against kite flying and immediately remove hazardous strings hanging from trees, rooftops, and electricity poles in their respective areas.

According to Lahore Police, authorities have arrested 4,185 suspects in anti-kite flying operations so far this year. Police have also recovered more than 114,000 kites and over 44,000 spools during the crackdown.
