Two Punjab Police officers died after reportedly falling ill during training at an Elite Training Center amid extreme heat and humid weather in Lahore.

According to police sources, the health of Syed Tasawwur Shah and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arshad suddenly deteriorated during an Elite Force training course, after which both officers collapsed.

Syed Tasawwur Shah belonged to Jhelum district, while ASI Arshad was serving in the Sargodha region.

Police sources said the officers fell ill due to the intense heat and humidity during the training.

ASI Arshad was shifted to a hospital after his condition worsened. He remained on a ventilator during treatment but could not survive.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths have not been detailed further.

Police said the bodies of both officers were handed over to their families after the completion of legal formalities.
