Nintendo has confirmed price increases for the Nintendo Switch 2 and several other products in select markets due to changing market conditions.
The company shared the announcement in a memo released on May 8 titled “Notice Regarding Price Revisions for Nintendo Products and Services.”
The Nintendo Switch 2 will receive its first price increase since launch. In Japan, the new pricing will take effect on May 25, while customers in the United States, Canada, and Europe will see the increase starting September 1.
Nintendo confirmed the following updated prices for the Switch 2:
The company also said additional regions will receive price revisions, although those details will be announced separately by regional representatives.
The price increase in most regions is around $50, which is lower than recent price hikes for competing consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox systems, which have increased by around $100 since early 2025.
Nintendo also confirmed price increases for the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Online services in Japan.
Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack memberships will become more expensive in Japan and South Korea starting July 1.
According to the company, the changes are intended to align pricing with other regions.
At the moment, Nintendo has not announced Nintendo Switch Online price increases for the United States or most other markets.
The company said customers in the US and other regions still have time to purchase the Switch 2 at its current pricing before the September increase takes effect.
