The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has arrested four suspects from Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan over online harassment and blackmailing of women.
A spokesperson said officers arrested Haroon Qureshi during a raid in Lahore. He allegedly harassed and threatened women through social media platforms.
In Faisalabad, the agency arrested Abdul Rehman and Ayaz for blackmailing a couple with objectionable material and taking money from them.
The NCCIA also arrested Farhad Abbas in Multan. He is accused of sharing a woman’s photos and videos on social media and blackmailing her.
Officials said legal proceedings are under way on the basis of digital evidence. They added that forensic examination of the seized mobile phones and other devices has also begun.
