The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts a combination of extreme humidity and scattered rainfall across the country for Wednesday, with blistering heat persisting in the plains.

Forecasters expect very hot and humid conditions to dominate the daytime. However, evening and night hours may bring relief through rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Balochistan.

In Islamabad and its surroundings, residents will face humid weather during the day, followed by potential thunder showers

and windstorms at night. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, including Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, are likely to experience scattered rain, with isolated heavy falls in some areas.

Punjab remains under a heat alert, but evening thundershowers may hit cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, Sindh and southern Balochistan will continue to experience mainly hot and dry weather, though coastal areas of Sindh may see partly cloudy skies.

During the last 24 hours, temperatures soared to 48°C in Nokkundi and 47°C in Dalbandin.

Major cities including Lahore, Islamabad, and Faisalabad all recorded maximums around 42°C.

The PMD advises the public to stay hydrated during the day and take precautions against sudden windstorms during the night.
