The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of a sharp rise in temperatures across Sindh, with a severe heatwave likely to affect the province during the coming week.
According to the Met Office, temperatures in Sindh are expected to rise by up to 6°C above normal between May 25 and May 31.
Several districts, particularly in inland Sindh, may see the mercury touching 50°C during this period.
Meteorologists said most parts of interior Sindh are likely to remain under extreme heat conditions. Citizens, farmers, and elderly people have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
The advisory comes as Sindh prepares for an intense spell of hot weather, which may create difficult conditions for outdoor workers, agricultural communities, and vulnerable groups.
Meanwhile, the rain system remains present in Punjab, where hot weather continues in Lahore.
According to the weather department, Lahore is still facing intense heat, but dusty winds and light rain are expected in the provincial capital and other parts of the province.
Weather experts said strong winds may blow in Lahore during the afternoon and evening, with light rain likely in some areas.
The minimum temperature in Lahore is expected to remain around 27°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 40°C.
