The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has finalized special arrangements to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during Muharram-ul-Haram, with officials placed on high alert to support religious gatherings and processions.
According to details, the Punjab government has assigned senior officers to special duties at the central control room to oversee electricity operations during the holy month.
On the instructions of LESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, several officers have been deployed from June 17 to June 26 to monitor the power distribution network and respond to any emergencies.
The special duty roster includes deputy managers, assistant managers, executive engineers (XENs), and other technical officials. These teams will closely monitor electricity supply during Majalis and Muharram processions to prevent disruptions and ensure a stable power network.
The LESCO CEO stated that all officers and field staff will remain fully alert throughout Muharram. He emphasized that rapid response mechanisms have been put in place to address any potential faults or outages and maintain a continuous electricity supply.
The measures are part of LESCO’s broader efforts to facilitate mourners and ensure smooth conduct of religious events across its service areas during Muharram.
