Acting on the directives of Director General LDA Tahir Farooq, the Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) Town Planning Wing intensified operations against illegal commercial buildings in LDA-controlled areas across the city.
During multiple enforcement operations conducted in various localities, LDA teams sealed a total of 203 properties over illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercialization fees.
The operations were carried out in Gulberg, Faisal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Gujjarpura, Samanabad, Shadbagh, UET area, Punjab Government Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme, College Road, and Allama Iqbal Town.
According to spokesperson, 19 properties were sealed in Gulberg and Faisal Town for unauthorized commercial activities, while 84 properties were sealed in Gulshan Ravi, Gujjarpura, Samanabad, and Shadbagh.
In separate actions over illegal commercial use and default in payment of commercialization fees, LDA teams sealed 60 properties in the UET area, Punjab Government Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme, and College Road.
Meanwhile, during a recovery operation in Allama Iqbal Town, another 40 properties were sealed.
The sealed properties included private schools, colleges, banks, halls, marquees, academies, bakeries, pharmacies, beauty salons, clinics, grocery stores, auto workshops, electric stores, restaurants, food points, shops, offices, and other businesses.
The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner-I Asad uz Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali.
