The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) governing body has approved an Rs. 88.613 billion budget for fiscal year 2026-27, setting the authority’s revenue target at Rs. 47 billion. Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad chaired the governing body meeting, while LDA Director General Tahir Farooq briefed members on the agenda.

The approved budget includes Rs. 10 billion as a Punjab government loan for structure plan roads and Rs. 6.3 billion for Annual Development Programme schemes. The LDA allocated Rs. 12.5 billion for development work in LDA City, Rs. 13.5 billion for sustainable development and urban regeneration, and Rs. 4 billion for LDA Avenue 1.

The governing body also approved a Rs. 3.5 billion budget for TEPA and amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2019. The authority approved a pilot project to introduce maintenance charges and improved sanitation and other municipal services in LDA Avenue 1, Jubilee Town and LDA Enclave. The LDA will provide these services free of charge for the first two months.

The meeting also approved the development and marketing of commercial plots on 118 kanals along Ferozepur Road near Arfa Karim Tower for a proposed LDA Tech Park. The LDA also approved Rs. 100 million for initiatives to make Lahore a child-friendly city in collaboration with UNICEF.

The meeting was informed that the LDA achieved a record Rs. 32 billion in revenue during the previous financial year, the first time its revenue crossed that mark.
