The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is preparing to auction 15 recreational sites at Lake View Park as part of a plan to generate revenue, while also moving ahead with the proposed Safari Park project by hiring an international consultant. According to officials, the proposal includes the auction of 10 existing recreational sites, whose leases expired in 2023, along with five newly planned sites in Lake View Park Phase II.

The matter came before the CDA Board during its recent meeting, where members gave in principle approval to proceed with the plan. The board directed the authority to complete the process in line with existing rules and regulations and consult its legal wing wherever necessary to ensure transparency.

The authority also plans to offer the right of first refusal to existing leaseholders, subject to legal clearance. Under the proposed policy, successful bidders will receive 15 year leases, with a 10 percent increase in rent every three years. The leases may also be extended for an additional five years.

Meanwhile, the CDA Board also approved the hiring of an international consultant for the proposed Safari Park near Malpur.

The consultant will supervise the work of the local consultant, review and validate project designs, and ensure the park meets international standards for wildlife habitats, animal welfare, and husbandry practices.

The international consultant will also provide technical oversight during construction and habitat development, help resolve design and implementation issues, and advise the CDA on the future operation and management of the Safari Park.
