Lahore Traffic Police has launched a new scooty driving school for women at Liberty Market under the Punjab government’s Women on Wheels initiative.

The center has been established to promote women’s mobility, confidence, and economic independence by offering professional training in scooty riding and car driving.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said the facility will follow a women-to-women service model, where female instructors will train and guide women learners in a safe and comfortable environment.

According to the CTO, Lahore Traffic Police has trained more than 7,000 women in car driving and scooty riding through different centers across the city. With the addition of the Liberty Market facility, the number of driving schools set up for women has reached 12.

CTO Shirazi said the training does not only cover practical driving lessons but also includes basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. This will help participants understand routine maintenance and handle minor vehicle-related issues.

He added that all driving schools are equipped with modern facilities to ensure quality instruction and a secure learning environment.

Officials believe free scooty riding lessons will help women travel independently, reduce reliance on public transport, and improve access to workplaces and educational institutions.

Lahore Traffic Police has urged interested women to register at any designated driving school in the city to benefit from the free training being offered under the Women on Wheels program.
