Traffic police personnel across Punjab will receive new uniforms as the provincial police department replaces the existing grey attire with white shirts and navy blue trousers.
According to police sources, the change is part of a province-wide replacement programme that will be carried out during the current financial year.
Lahore Traffic Police had already adopted the new dress code last year during the first phase of the transition. The revised plan was introduced in stages, beginning with Lahore before expanding to traffic police units in other districts.
Sources said Punjab Inspector General Abdul Karim has now approved the procurement of around 12,000 new uniforms for traffic police personnel.
Authorities are expected to begin the supplier pre-qualification process this week as they prepare to roll out the new uniform scheme across Punjab Police units.
Officials said the new dress code is intended to create a standardised appearance for traffic personnel across the province while phasing out the old grey uniform
