Karachi Traffic Police have announced a special traffic plan for August 22 to facilitate citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow during the 8 Rabi-ul-Awal processions across the city.
The main processions will start from Nishtar Park and several other locations in Karachi. In view of the gatherings, traffic police have made special arrangements to maintain traffic movement and avoid inconvenience to the public.
According to a traffic police spokesperson, alternative routes will be designated for procession participants, while traffic personnel will be deployed at different points to manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians.
Citizens planning to attend the processions by vehicle will be issued special passes. These passes can be obtained from the relevant central office between August 17 and August 20.
Applicants must submit their vehicle registration card, national identity card and two photographs to receive a pass.
Karachi Traffic Police have clarified that participants must carry the original vehicle registration card and CNIC with them during the processions.
The department has advised citizens to avoid procession routes where possible, use alternative roads and follow the instructions of traffic officers on duty.
Police officials said additional measures will remain in place throughout the day to manage congestion around major procession routes, including Nishtar Park.
