The Islamabad district administration has issued a fresh notification revising business operating hours in the capital under ongoing austerity and energy conservation measures, with the new timings taking effect from June 3, 2026.

According to the notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, shops, markets, shopping malls, bazaars, and departmental, grocery, general, and kiryana stores will now close at 9:00 pm on all days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday.

Marriage halls, marquees, and other commercial venues hosting festive events will be required to close by 10:00 pm.

Restaurants, cafes, eateries, food outlets, and standalone fruit and vegetable shops will be allowed to operate until 11:00 pm. However, takeaway and home delivery services will remain exempt from the restriction.

The new order replaces the earlier notification issued on May 31 and slightly relaxes closing hours for several sectors.

A number of services have again been kept outside the restrictions. These include hospitals, clinics, and medical laboratories, along with pharmacies and medical supply stores.

The notification also exempts standalone bakeries, standalone tandoors, and standalone milk and dairy shops, as well as fuel and CNG stations, electric vehicle charging stations, gyms, sports facilities, padel courts, IT companies, and call centers.

The district administration said the revised timings will remain in force until further orders.

Compared to the earlier order, the latest notification gives an extra hour to shops and markets, while restaurants and food outlets can now stay open until 11:00 pm under the updated schedule.
