Indonesia has pledged to make it easier for Pakistani exporters to obtain business visas as both countries look to expand bilateral trade and investment across multiple sectors.
The commitment was made by Indonesian Ambassador Chandra W. Sukotjo during an official visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), where he led a diplomatic delegation and held talks with RCCI President Usman Shaukat and Vice President Fahad Barlas.
According to the ambassador, Indonesia is working to simplify business visa processing for Pakistani exporters while also considering reductions in visa fees to encourage greater participation in trade and investment activities.
During the meeting, Ambassador Sukotjo invited Pakistani businesses to participate in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18. He described the event as a key platform for Pakistani companies to secure export orders, explore joint ventures, and strengthen commercial ties with Indonesian businesses.
The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in halal food, renewable energy, healthcare, digital technologies, and other emerging industries.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat called for stronger business-to-business linkages and urged both countries to convert their strong diplomatic relations into higher trade volumes by increasing Pakistani exports, organizing joint trade delegations, and promoting collaboration in manufacturing and value-added products.
The Indonesian delegation also included Head of Economic Affairs Ingan Malen, Economic Section official Qurrat Ul Ain, Socio-Cultural Section official Muhammad Khairul Ajyal, and Dicky Rachmat Pauji.
