NexGen Auto Pvt. Ltd. has clarified that revised prices circulating on social media for its OMODA and JAECOO vehicles are unauthentic and should not be treated as official.
In a clarification issued on September 3, the company said it has taken notice of social media posts regarding revised vehicle prices and described the information as “unauthentic and baseless.”
NexGen said it will announce revised prices once there is clarity on the new Auto Policy. The company added that any price revision or related information will be communicated only through an official notification and its verified social media platforms.
The clarification comes after an earlier NexGen circular to dealers outlined revised pricing for the Jaecoo J5 following the government’s increase in the sales tax rate on hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to 25%.
That circular listed the Jaecoo J5 Comfort at Rs. 7,799,000, compared with the previously listed Rs. 6,699,000, and the J5 Premium at Rs. 8,799,000, compared with Rs. 7,699,000. However, NexGen’s latest clarification indicates that customers should rely on the company’s forthcoming official price announcement.
The company has urged customers, dealers and other stakeholders to disregard unofficial pricing information and rely solely on its official communication channels.
