The DAAD has announced applications for its prestigious Helmut-Schmidt-Program (Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance – PPGG), offering fully funded opportunities for international students aiming to pursue master’s degrees in Germany.
The program targets graduates in social and political sciences, law, economics, public policy, and public administration, who are committed to strengthening democratic governance and development in their home countries.
Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, the scholarship is designed to train future leaders in global governance and public service.
Selected candidates can apply to one of seven participating master’s programs at leading German universities, covering fields such as public policy, development studies, peace and conflict studies, and nonprofit management.
A key feature of the program is its strong focus on good governance, leadership training, and international networking, alongside academic study. Scholars also benefit from structured support, including preparatory German language courses and career development opportunities.
The application deadline for the 2026 intake is 31 July 2026. Interested applicants must apply through the official DAAD scholarship portal.
