Karachi recorded a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday as strong dusty winds swept across the city, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Officials said southwest winds blowing at around 24 kilometers per hour began shortly after sunrise and continued for most of the day, creating hot and dry weather conditions.
The Met Office said the city recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1°C with humidity levels remaining around 34 per cent, resulting in intense heat combined with dry winds and dust.
At several points during the day, wind speeds reportedly reached between 35 and 40 kilometers per hour, worsening conditions across the metropolis.
Residents experienced harsh weather conditions, as dusty winds and extreme heat affected daily activities in different parts of the city.
The Met Office has forecast that weather conditions on Thursday will remain hot and dry in most districts of Sindh.
However, partly cloudy weather and thunderstorms are expected in some areas around Ghotki.

Meteorological officials said the heatwave conditions are likely to persist across several parts of the province.
