New renders and specifications for the global Redmi 17 5G have appeared online ahead of its official launch, revealing the entire spec sheet.
Additionally, the 4G variant appeared on a Polish retail website before the official launch. The webpage is now inaccessible.
According to the leak, the Redmi 17 5G features flat edges and a rectangular rear camera module with circular camera cutouts.
It measures 170.12 × 74.42 × 8.8mm and weighs 235 grams, making it a relatively large and heavy device. The phone has a 6.9-inch LCD with a resolution of 1,600 × 720 pixels. Users can switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates.
The panel offers 675 nits of typical brightness and up to 825 nits in High Brightness Mode. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i reportedly protects the screen.
The leak shows the phone in Orange, Black, and Blue colour options. The Orange version has a textured, leather-like back that should provide better grip than the standard finishes on the other two models.
The design shown in the leaked images below matches the photos that appeared on the Polish retail website.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset reportedly powers the Redmi 17 5G. The 4nm processor has a clock speed of up to 2.45GHz.
The phone is expected to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The base version could offer 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel AI main camera and a QVGA anti-flicker sensor.
An 8-megapixel front camera will handle selfies and video calls.
The Redmi 17 5G reportedly carries a 7,500mAh battery with 45W USB-C fast charging and USB Power Delivery support. However, the charger may not be included in the box.
Connectivity features include dual nano-SIM support, 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC.
The phone also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and includes stereo speakers. Other leaked features include a microSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, a Dynamic RGB notification light and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The Redmi 17 4G has appeared through a Polish retailer despite not being officially announced by Xiaomi or previously launched in China.
The listings confirm that the European model retains the large 7,500 mAh battery. This detail was previously uncertain because some phones reach Europe with smaller batteries than versions offered in other markets.
The Redmi 17 4G features a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1,600 × 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset and runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Other specifications include a 50-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, 45W charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device measures 8.8mm thick and weighs 232 grams.
