Fairphone has introduced the Fairphone 6+, bringing more RAM, a newer processor, and an additional color option compared with the Fairphone 6. Other than that, it is identical to the Fairphone 6, which was released in June last year.

The Fairphone 6+ features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2,484 × 1,116 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The phone comes in Cobalt Blue, Forest Green, and Horizon Black. Cobalt Blue is the new color option introduced with the Fairphone 6+.

Repairability remains one of its main features. The phone has 12 user-replaceable components, including the USB-C port, battery, display, and back cover. Fairphone says these parts can be replaced in under five minutes.

The microphones, side buttons and fingerprint sensor can also be repaired through a service center. Fairphone has promised to make spare parts available until 2033.

The company is also providing a five-year warranty with the device.

The Fairphone 6+ is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, replacing the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the Fairphone 6.

It comes with 12GB of RAM, which is 50% more than the 8GB offered by its predecessor.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box. Fairphone promises six major Android updates.

The company’s website also indicates that the device will continue receiving security updates until either 2032 or 2033, although the wording regarding the exact end date is unclear.

Other than the processor, increased RAM, and the new Cobalt Blue finish, the Fairphone 6+ remains unchanged from the Fairphone 6.

The Fairphone 6+ has a 50MP main camera using Sony’s Lytia 700C sensor. The primary camera also supports optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 13MP ultrawide camera.

For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 32MP front-facing camera.

The phone packs a 4,415mAh battery with support for 30W wired fast charging. The battery is one of the components that users can replace themselves.

The Fairphone 6+ is priced at $649 in the US and €649 in Europe.
