In its latest advisory for May, June, and July, the PDMA warned that temperatures across most districts are expected to remain above normal.

The possibility of intense heat, expected Eid ul Adha holidays, and weather advisories issued by the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) have prompted discussions on closing educational institutions before the usual schedule. In its latest advisory for May, June, and July, the PDMA warned that temperatures across most districts are expected to remain above normal.

According to reports, Eid ul Adha holidays are expected from May 27 to May 29. Since May 30 and May 31 fall on the weekend, authorities are considering starting summer vacations from May 27 instead of June 1.

At the same time, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has proposed reducing both summer and winter vacations in the future to make up for academic losses and increase the number of school days from 180 to 190 annually.

Meanwhile, private schools have requested permission to hold summer camps between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. during the vacation period to help students continue academic activities despite the break.
