Professional butchers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have witnessed a sharp rise in demand ahead of Eid ul Azha, with bookings for the first day of Eid reportedly already closed in several areas.

According to local market details, rates for slaughtering and meat preparation of sacrificial animals have also been finalized separately for each Eid day.

For the first day of Eid, butchers are charging around Rs. 25,000 for slaughtering and meat preparation of large animals, including cattle, while rates for goats and sheep have been fixed at Rs. 12,000.

On the second day, charges for large animals will drop to Rs. 23,000, while slaughtering of small animals will cost around Rs. 10,000. Rates for the third day have been set at Rs. 20,000 for large animals and Rs. 9,000 for goats and sheep.

According to reports, butcher shops across the twin cities have been temporarily closed for routine operations and are expected to reopen in early July due to Eid-related workload.

Meanwhile, professional butchers from rural areas of Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hazara, Haripur, Abbottabad and Azad Kashmir have arrived in the twin cities with slaughtering equipment to meet increased demand during Eid days.
