Xiaomi has introduced a new portable charger in China called the Xiaomi Jinshajiang Ultra Thin Magnetic Power Bank 10000 45W.
The device is currently available in China for around $54.
The new power bank focuses on portability. Xiaomi says the device measures 13.2mm thick and weighs 195 grams. It has a compact body measuring 102 x 70.5 x 13.2mm.
The power bank uses two 5,000mAh battery cells inside, giving it a total capacity of 10,000mAh.
Xiaomi is using new GSR silicon carbon anode battery technology in the power bank.
According to the company, the battery offers an energy density of up to 840Wh/L and contains 16% silicon content, a feature usually seen in flagship-grade batteries.
Xiaomi says this allows the power bank to offer a large battery capacity without becoming bulky.
The device supports up to 20W magnetic wireless charging. It works with both Xiaomi smartphones and Apple iPhones.
For wired charging, the power bank supports speeds of up to 45W. It also supports 40W, 30W, and 27W charging. Users can charge two devices at the same time by using wired and wireless charging together.
The power bank itself can recharge at up to 30W and supports common charging protocols, including QC and PD.
Xiaomi has added several safety protections to the power bank. These include protection against overcharging, overdischarging, short circuits, overheating, and abnormal operating conditions.
The device also uses an NTC intelligent temperature control chip, graphene heat dissipation material, and thermally conductive silicone for better heat management.
Xiaomi has shared several durability claims for the battery cells. The company says the cells passed needle penetration, high temperature storage, and heavy pressure compression tests without catching fire or exploding.
Users can also connect the power bank to a computer to check battery health, device status, traceability information, and anomaly records.
