The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as the likely host of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, according to international media reports.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) reportedly informed the eight participating teams on July 22 that the venue was still being finalized. The council also shared the tournament’s official logo.
Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, and the UAE are set to participate in the competition.
Although the ACC has yet to officially announce the venue, dates, and schedule, the tournament is expected to begin on August 28, with the final likely to be played on September 13.
The final is expected to take place just three days before the start of the women’s cricket event at the 2026 Asian Games in Nayoga, Japan. The Asian Games will continue until September 28.
Participating teams have reportedly contacted the ACC for confirmation of the schedule to finalize their travel and logistical arrangements.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s squad for the tournament on Sunday but removed the announcement shortly afterward, as the ACC had not officially confirmed the event details.
Sri Lanka will enter the tournament as the defending champion after defeating India in the 2024 final.
Pakistan, led by experienced all-rounder Nida Dar, reached the semifinals of the previous edition held in Sri Lanka.
