WhatsApp has started testing its subscription service called WhatsApp Plus in several regions across the world, including Pakistan. The public test is not available to everyone yet, but we know now the subscription price in Pakistan, thanks to folks over at WABetaInfo .

WABetaInfo is known for tracking WhatsApp features through beta versions and early test releases. According to their latest report, WhatsApp Plus will cost Rs. 230 per month in Pakistan, making it cheaper than other regions, similar to other subscription services such as Spotify and Netflix. It will cost  €2.49 per month in Europe and MXN 29 per month in Mexico.

As the screenshot below shows, WhatsApp Plus will bring additional features to subscribers, such as premium stickers, new app themes, custom app icons, the ability to pin extra chats, premium ringtones, and more.

WhatsApp Plus adds 10 exclusive ringtones to the mix for subscribers, and you can also pin up to 20 chats at once, up from 3 pins compared to a free account. This should help organize your chat list better, especially for frequent users who need to manage dozens of chats at a time.

Subscribers can access a range of new sticker packs directly from the in-app sticker store. These include premium stickers with enhanced visual effects, such as overlay animations that expand across the screen. When a premium sticker is sent, the recipient also sees the same animated effect layered over the chat, even if they are not subscribed to the premium plan.

The subscription also unlocks expanded theme customization, allowing users to choose from 18 new color options. These include Vibrant Blue, Royal Purple, Deep Navy, Bright Lavender, Charcoal Grey, Coral Orange, Forest Green, Teal, Burgundy, and Earl Brown. Additional choices include Sandy Beige, Emerald Green, Bright Yellow, Olive Green, Fuchsia Pink, Crimson Red, Sunset Orange, and Golden Yellow.

In addition, the premium plan introduces 14 new app icons. These range from standard designs to more detailed and textured styles. Some options feature creative visual effects such as glitter finishes, glowing electric blue tones, and cosmic-themed designs. Others offer unique textures, including clay-like and soft, fuzzy appearances. Users can also select minimalist icons with pastel colors like lavender, sky blue, and peach, or opt for simple outlined designs in light green or high-contrast black and white.

Another feature included in the premium plan is the ability to apply settings across multiple chats at once. Users can assign themes, notification tones, and call ringtones to entire chat lists, ensuring consistent settings across conversations. When a new chat is added to a list, the selected preferences are automatically applied.

As mentioned earlier, WhatsApp Plus is still in testing and only available to a limited number of users on the latest version of WhatsApp. The premium plan is only available on Android for now, with an iOS release planned for a later date.
