Vivo has launched a new pair of budget wireless earbuds in China called the Vivo TWS 5e. The earbuds were introduced alongside the Vivo S60 series and bring upgrades in noise cancellation and battery life over the previous Vivo TWS 3e.
The Vivo TWS 5e uses a familiar stem-style design with silicone ear tips and rounded outer shells.
Each earbud weighs 4.3 grams. Vivo has also given the earbuds an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Noise cancellation is one of the main upgrades this year. Vivo says the TWS 5e supports up to 55dB hybrid adaptive active noise cancellation, compared with 30dB ANC on the older Vivo TWS 3e.
The earbuds also include dual-microphone AI call noise reduction.
Vivo has added AI features such as AI smart broadcast, instant pairing when the case is opened, and real-time translation support.
The Vivo TWS 5e uses 11mm, dynamic drivers. They support AAC, SBC, and LC3 audio codecs.
The earbuds also include Vivo’s DeepX 3.0 stereo sound effects and spatial audio support. Vivo says these features are designed to create a more immersive experience for movies, gaming, and music.
Connectivity has been upgraded from Bluetooth 5.3 to Bluetooth 5.4. The earbuds support dual device pairing and offer a wireless range of up to 10 meters.
Vivo is also claiming a low latency of as little as 42ms.
Vivo says the TWS 5e can last up to 13 hours on a single charge. With the charging case, total playback time goes up to 55 hours.
The earbuds charge through USB Type-C.
The Vivo TWS 5e are priced at $32. They are available in white, black, and sky blue finishes.
The earbuds are only available in China at the moment, but should reach the global market eventually.
