The UAE has clarified the rules for its five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows visitors of all nationalities to enter the country without a sponsor or host.
The self-sponsored visa remains valid for five years and permits multiple entries and exits during that period. Each visit allows a stay of up to 90 days, which can be extended for another 90 days. However, the total stay in the UAE must not exceed 180 days in one year.
The visa is aimed at tourists, frequent travellers, family visitors and business travellers who need more flexibility than a standard tourist visa.
Applicants must submit a valid passport with at least six months’ validity, a recent personal photograph, proof of health insurance, a round-trip ticket and bank statements for the previous six months.
They must also show a minimum bank balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in another currency during the six months before applying.
Applications can be submitted through official digital platforms and smart apps available around the clock, as well as through Customer Happiness Centres and Amer Service Centres. The process includes selecting the service, filling out the form, uploading the required documents and paying the fees.
The total cost of the visa is Dh3,713, which includes visa fees, service charges and a refundable financial guarantee. Final costs may vary depending on individual requirements.
Visa holders must keep track of their entry and exit dates to avoid overstaying. Travel movement reports can help applicants monitor their stay within the allowed limit.
