The United Arab Emirates has announced a five-year Golden Residency permit for outstanding secondary school students, allowing eligible students and their families to live in the country without requiring a sponsor. The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) oversees the Golden Residency program, which is designed to attract talented individuals and support the country’s long-term development.

Under the program, qualifying students and their families can live, study, work and invest in the UAE during the validity of their residency.

The ICP has set two key conditions for outstanding high school students seeking the five-year Golden Residency.

Applicants must obtain a recommendation letter from the UAE Ministry of Education and provide proof of academic excellence with a score of 95% or above.

The authority also requires applicants to submit supporting documents, including certificates demonstrating academic excellence and recommendation letters from their school or university.

The UAE Golden Residency is also available to several other eligible categories, including talented professionals and outstanding graduates. Depending on the applicant’s category, the long-term residency permit can be issued for either five or 10 years.

Unlike standard residency permits, the Golden Residency allows eligible individuals to live in the UAE for an extended period without relying on an employer or individual sponsor.
