City Traffic Police Lahore has finalized a traffic management plan for six cattle markets established across Lahore ahead of Eid ul Adha, with more than 200 traffic wardens deployed to manage traffic flow and assist traders and visitors.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said zonal officers from the City and Sadar divisions would supervise arrangements at all cattle markets. Under the plan, six DSPs, 18 sector in-charges, and over 200 wardens have been assigned duties, while six forklifts will remain operational to remove encroachments and illegally parked vehicles.

Separately, the traffic police have imposed a complete ban on loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws on Canal Road to improve road safety.

According to the CTO, additional personnel have been deployed at Dharampura, Mughalpura, and Thokar Niaz Baig to enforce the restrictions. He said loader rickshaws carrying iron rods, steel pipes, and other goods in unsafe manners posed serious risks to commuters.

The traffic police chief also ordered action against auto-rickshaw drivers allowing passengers to sit beside drivers.

Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said security arrangements for cattle markets, traders, and buyers had been further strengthened ahead of Eid ul Adha.
