The Sindh government on Friday announced a separate four-day holiday schedule for Eid ul Azha, extending the break beyond the three-day holidays announced by the federal government.
According to an official notification, all government offices and autonomous bodies across Sindh will remain closed from May 26 to May 29 on account of Eid ul Azha.
Earlier, the federal government had announced public holidays from May 26 to May 28 after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a three-day Eid holiday schedule.
The announcement came after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Zilhaj moon on May 17, declaring that Eid ul Azha would be observed in Pakistan on May 27.
The moon sighting announcement was made following a meeting of the committee held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in Karachi.
