Saudi Arabia will begin issuing Umrah visas and allow international pilgrims to enter the Kingdom from May 31, 2026, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

This marks the start of the new Umrah season following the annual Hajj period, when visa issuance is typically paused for operational management.

Umrah is a year-round pilgrimage that attracts millions of Muslims globally, with a significant share coming from Pakistan.

In recent years, Pakistan has remained one of the largest sources of Umrah pilgrims, supported by a wide network of licensed travel operators, group packages, and repeat religious tourism demand.

Any reopening or new season announcement in Saudi Arabia is closely tracked by Pakistani travel agencies, as it directly affects bookings, airfare demand, and visa processing cycles.

Saudi authorities regulate Umrah entry in phases each year to manage crowd flow in Makkah and Madinah and to ensure coordination with infrastructure capacity, especially after the completion of Hajj operations.

The May 31 reopening is expected to restart pilgrimage inflows after the Hajj season arrangements, allowing travel operators to resume full-scale bookings for families and groups planning visits to the holy sites.
