Punjab has decided to impose fines on motorcyclists riding without side-view mirrors and indicators as authorities move to strengthen road safety across the province.

According to the Lahore Traffic Police, authorities have prepared a summary seeking amendments to the Motor Vehicles law.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said the traffic police has also proposed that motorcycle manufacturers modify their designs to ensure the permanent installation of side-view mirrors.

The traffic police said the absence of side-view mirrors and indicators is one of the leading causes of road accidents and urged riders to keep their motorcycles equipped with all required safety features.

Authorities will also conduct public awareness and driver education sessions to educate citizens about traffic laws and encourage safer riding practices across Punjab.
