The Punjab Police Welfare Board has approved an increase in marriage grants for daughters of police martyrs and serving and retired police employees.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Police Welfare Board chaired by Punjab Inspector General (IG) Abdul Karim.
During the meeting, DIG Welfare and Finance Mehboob Rashid presented proposals to improve welfare facilities for police employees and their families. Board members reviewed the proposals and agreed to enhance several welfare measures.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the marriage grant for each daughter of a police martyr has been increased from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 750,000.
The marriage grant for daughters of police employees who died during service has also been increased from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 500,000.
Meanwhile, the marriage grant for daughters of serving and retired police employees has been raised from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 250,000.
The board also approved full tuition fees at specialized private educational institutions as an education grant for children of employees in Grades 1 to 17.
