Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a new initiative titled “e-Learn She Earn” with a budget of Rs. 700 million to expand economic opportunities for women through online work and digital entrepreneurship.
According to details, the program aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping thousands of women across Punjab with high-demand digital skills. The initiative is expected to help women earn from home and participate in the global gig economy.
Officials said the program is being implemented jointly by the Punjab Skills Development Fund and the Women Development Department, Punjab.
Under the initiative, selected women will receive free three-month online training in several key areas, including digital marketing and e-commerce, graphic design, virtual assistance, and digital customer care.
The government will also provide free laptops to selected participants. In addition, trainees will receive monthly stipends during the training period, internet support, and professional certification after completing the program.
The initiative is open to women aged 15 to 35 years, while some specialized tracks will accept applicants up to 40 years of age. Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and possess a valid CNIC or B-form. Minimum education requirements will vary by course.
Officials added that registration will be conducted through the official portals of the Punjab Information Technology Board and the Punjab Skills Development Fund. Selection will be based on merit and an initial assessment test.
