The Punjab Home Department has introduced a stricter monitoring system for arms dealers across the province, making digital inventory records mandatory for all dealers.
Under the new system, arms dealers will be required to upload details of their existing stock, purchases, sales, and available weapons and ammunition to the Home Department’s online portal.
The department has also introduced a dedicated inventory module for business arms license holders in Punjab to maintain digital records of their transactions and stock.
Arms dealers have been given until August 26 to enter complete details of their existing inventory and purchase and sale records on the portal.
To ensure compliance, the Home Department has shared details of arms dealers with deputy commissioners in their respective districts. The deputy commissioners have been directed to ensure that all dealers complete the required online record by the deadline.
Once the inventory records have been updated, the deputy commissioners will submit compliance reports to the Punjab Home Department.
The department has also arranged online training workshops at deputy commissioners’ offices to help arms dealers understand and use the new digital inventory system.
