The Punjab government has extended the enforcement of Section 144 across the province, maintaining a complete ban on flying drones in open areas for another 30 days due to security concerns.

According to a statement issued by the Punjab Home Department, the restriction on outdoor drone operations will remain in effect under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.

The department said the ban has been imposed to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and protect public and private property.

However, limited use of small drones will be allowed inside halls and marquees during indoor events. Organizers will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of drones at such gatherings.

The notification exempts intelligence agencies and law enforcement institutions from the restrictions. The Punjab Home Department has directed district administrations and police authorities across the province to strictly enforce the orders.
