The Government of Punjab has approved nine major transport projects across different districts to improve infrastructure and expand modern travel facilities, including electric buses.

The projects will be launched in nine districts, with work set to begin within the current fiscal year. Authorities have also approved the immediate release of Rs900 million for initial development activities.

Under the plan, Faisalabad will receive over Rs3.72 billion for the development of bus stops and terminals, while Gujrat has been allocated Rs5.10 billion for transport infrastructure.

Gujranwala will receive the largest share, exceeding Rs7.44 billion, as part of efforts to upgrade its transport network.

Significant funds have also been earmarked for Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sahiwal, and Multan, while development projects are also planned for Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.

The initiative aims to modernise public transport systems, enhance connectivity, and provide improved commuting facilities for residents across the province.
