A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured after being attacked by a pet dog in Lahore’s Garhi Shahu area, prompting police to arrest the dog’s owner and register a case.
According to police, the incident took place within the limits of Garhi Shahu Police Station. A woman was walking her pet dog when it suddenly attacked a nearby child, identified as Zainul Abideen.
The attack left the child with deep scratches on his face and serious wounds on his arm and hand.
Police said they received information about the incident through the 15 emergency helpline and immediately reached the scene. The injured child was given initial medical aid and later shifted to a hospital.
The dog’s owner was taken into custody at the scene. Police said a case has been registered on the complaint of the child’s family, and legal proceedings are underway.
SP Civil Lines Chaudhry Asar Ali said CCTV footage of the incident has also been obtained. The footage reportedly shows the woman walking with the dog and the moment of the attack.
