Ignite National Technology Fund has launched the 5th Digital Pakistan Cybersecurity Hackathon, introducing what it describes as Pakistan’s biggest cybersecurity hackathon with a support package worth more than Rs. 51.5 million.
Ignite has invited students, cybersecurity professionals, ethical hackers, security researchers, and technology enthusiasts to participate. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their technical expertise, solve real cybersecurity challenges, and compete against some of Pakistan’s leading cybersecurity talent.
The support package includes Rs. 12.5 million in cash awards, Rs. 12 million in cybersecurity training coupons, and Rs. 27 million to support participation in international cybersecurity competitions.
The hackathon will feature practical cybersecurity training workshops in 16 cities across Pakistan, followed by Red Teaming and Blue Teaming competitions in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Quetta and Peshawar. The initiative is designed to give participants hands-on experience in identifying, defending against and responding to cyber threats.
Operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite said the initiative aims to identify cybersecurity talent, strengthen practical skills and create opportunities for Pakistani professionals to compete internationally.

According to Ignite, the initiative is intended to strengthen Pakistan’s cybersecurity workforce by providing advanced practical training, promoting ethical hacking and security research, and encouraging innovation to help safeguard the country’s growing digital infrastructure.
