Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Science, Technology and Information Technology Shafi Jan has directed the establishment of Citizen Facilitation Centres in every district of the province to provide multiple government services under one roof.
He issued the directive while chairing a high-level meeting at the office of Secretary Science and Information Technology Abdul Basit on Thursday.
Director General Science and Technology Sajid Ali Shah, Managing Director Information Technology Board Dr Aqif Khan and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The minister was briefed on the department’s performance, ongoing projects and future initiatives focused on science, technology, innovation, e-governance, digitalisation, research and development.
Officials said the department is also working to promote industrial development, IT education and training, and support local IT companies.
They said initiatives are under way to establish IT parks and boost software exports, while six Model IT Labs have already been set up in schools in the merged districts.
