Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana has signed for the Vancouver Anchors ahead of this year’s Canada Super 60 tournament.
The competition is scheduled to take place from September 29 to October 4.
The franchise confirmed the signing through its official social media platforms, sharing a graphical banner featuring the 24-year-old bowling all-rounder.
“The marquee announcement you’ve been waiting for. Fatima Sana is ready to make waves for the Vancouver Anchors this season,” the franchise said.
The announcement comes just a day before Sana is expected to make history as the first Pakistan women’s cricketer to feature in The Hundred.
She could make her debut for Birmingham Phoenix against Southern Brave in Southampton.
Sana was added to the Phoenix squad as their fourth overseas player after Cricket Australia withdrew Lucy Hamilton to manage her workload. The Pakistan captain will receive the tournament’s minimum salary of £15,000, approximately Rs. 5.6 million.
Her selection followed an impressive all-round performance during Pakistan’s narrow defeat against South Africa in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Edgbaston, Birmingham Phoenix’s home ground.
Batting at No. 8, Sana scored an unbeaten 55 off 38 deliveries before returning figures of 3 for 16. However, South Africa secured a two-wicket victory.
Sana is the third Pakistani player to secure a contract in The Hundred this year. She joins Usman Tariq at Birmingham Phoenix, while mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed was signed by Sunrisers Leeds for £190,000 during the auction in March.
