The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has officially announced the trial schedule for both its Under-18 and senior national teams as part of preparations for upcoming international competitions, including the U-18 Asia Cup and the FIH Pro League.

According to a press release from the PHF Media Cell, the decision was made after detailed consultations among the federation’s Professional Development Committee, National Selection Committee, and team head coaches. The final plan was approved by the PHF President.

Training camps for both teams are currently underway. The Pakistan U-18 squad is training at the Nasir Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad, while the senior team is holding its camp at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore.

Trials for the U-18 team will take place on May 9 and 10 at the Nasir Bunda Hockey Stadium. Members of the National Selection Committee and the junior team’s head coach will oversee the process to finalize the squad for the U-18 Asia Cup.

For the senior national team, the first phase of trials is scheduled for May 12 and 13 at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore. These trials will be supervised by the senior team’s head coach along with all members of the selection committee.

A PHF spokesperson confirmed that the senior team selection process will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, approximately 60 probables currently attending the training camp will be evaluated, and top performers will be shortlisted.

A second phase of trials will then be held to finalize the squad for the FIH Pro League, with its schedule to be announced later.

The PHF President is personally overseeing both the training camps and the trial process to ensure that selections are made on merit and that the most capable players are chosen to represent Pakistan at the international level.
