The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced its Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament, with Pakistan captain Fatima Sana earning a place after a strong all-round campaign.

The 12-player squad featured cricketers from eight countries. World champion Australia led the selection with four players, while runner-up England had two representatives.

Australia’s strong presence followed its dominant campaign, which ended with a seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title.

Fatima’s inclusion was a major highlight for Pakistan. Although Pakistan won only one match in the 12-team tournament, a group-stage victory against the Netherlands, Fatima produced consistent performances with both bat and ball.

She finished the tournament with 11 wickets in five matches at an average of 11.27 and also scored 85 runs. Her performances made her one of Pakistan’s most effective players during the competition.

The ICC described Fatima as the “beating heart” of Pakistan’s team because of her impact in key matches. Against South Africa, she scored an unbeaten 55 after Pakistan had collapsed to 50-8. She then took 3-16 with the ball and nearly led Pakistan to a memorable win.

Fatima also took 3-12 against the Netherlands and helped Pakistan secure a 37-run win in its final group-stage match.

England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 302 runs, while India’s Sree Charani ended as the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets.

Australia’s Beth Mooney, who scored 238 runs and played important innings in both knockout matches, was named Player of the Tournament.
