Pakistan left-arm pacer Mir Hamza has joined Glamorgan for their final five matches of the County Championship 2026 season, the club announced.
The 32-year-old is set to begin his second spell with the Cardiff-based side on August 27 when Glamorgan take on Hampshire at Sophia Gardens.
Hamza previously represented Glamorgan during the 2024 County Championship. In his first stint with the club, he picked up two wickets in six matches at an average of 35.5.
The fast bowler has also played seven Tests for Pakistan, with his most recent appearance coming against South Africa in December last year.
Glamorgan Director of Cricket Mark Wallace welcomed Hamza’s return and said the club was fortunate to secure a player of his quality at a time when overseas players have limited availability.
“We’re delighted to have Mir rejoining us for the last [five] games of the year,” Wallace said.
“With such a busy international calendar and domestic seasons restarting in the Southern Hemisphere, there is limited availability at this time of the year, so we’re lucky to be able to call on a player of Mir’s quality for the run in.”
Glamorgan are currently fourth in the County Championship Division One standings after returning to the top flight following a 21-year absence.
They sit just nine points behind leaders and defending champions Nottinghamshire, with six matches remaining in their campaign.
Before Hamza joins the squad, Glamorgan will face Leicestershire at Grace Road from August 20 to 23 in their next County Championship fixture.
