Pakistan secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Championship at Liaquat Gymnasium.

The home team made a strong start to the championship match, comfortably winning the opening set 25-20. Pakistan produced an even more dominant performance in the second set, winning it 25-16.

Pakistan then secured the third set 25-20 to complete a convincing straight-set victory over Bangladesh.

The win gave Pakistan its third CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship title. The national team previously won the tournament in 2022 and 2024.

“This historic triumph is a proud moment for Pakistan and another significant milestone in the continued rise of Pakistani volleyball on the international stage.

“Throughout the championship, Pakistan showcased world-class volleyball, remarkable teamwork, unwavering determination, and exceptional sportsmanship. Backed by the passionate home crowd, the Green Shirts delivered dominant performances to lift the prestigious CAVA Championship Trophy.”

Pakistan began its campaign with a straight-set victory over Sri Lanka on July 22. The team registered another straight-set win against Bangladesh the following day.

Pakistan then defeated Nepal, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan 3-0 in its remaining league-stage matches. These victories allowed the team to qualify for the semifinals with an unbeaten record.

In Tuesday’s knockout match, Pakistan faced Sri Lanka again and advanced to the final with another straight-set victory.

Pakistan did not lose a single set throughout the week-long continental tournament.
