Naran, a key tourist hub in the Kaghan Valley, is expected to reopen to visitors as authorities work to restore traffic on the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road.
The National Highway Authority has deployed machinery to cut through glaciers and clear snow, with traffic likely to resume within a few days after being suspended for nearly six months.
The route was closed in November last year due to heavy snowfall. Officials said that while the road up to Naran has largely been cleared, full restoration of traffic may take another four to five weeks.
Local hoteliers have started returning to prepare for the expected influx of tourists, though access to key attractions like Lake Saiful Muluk remains blocked due to snow and landslides.
Police posts along the route are yet to be fully reactivated. Authorities said the main police station in lower Kaghan Valley will be shifted to Naran, with additional posts to be restored gradually to ensure safety for travellers.
