The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced major relief for consumers ahead of Eid al-Adha, confirming that it will not carry out load shedding during the Eid holidays.
According to officials, consumers will receive an uninterrupted electricity supply despite intense heat and rising electricity demand, allowing citizens to celebrate Eid without inconvenience.
LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt said that no load shedding will be carried out in any area under LESCO’s jurisdiction during Eid al-Adha.
He stated that the company is fully prepared to ensure a continuous power supply and that necessary measures have already been taken to handle any emergency situation.
The LESCO chief added that an effective strategy has also been adopted to address issues such as overbilling, electricity theft, and delays in the provision of new connections.
He further said that the immediate replacement of transformers damaged due to overloading or technical faults has been ordered to prevent disruption in electricity transmission.
According to Ramzan Butt, LESCO is making efforts to maintain a 24-hour electricity supply for consumers throughout the summer season. Field staff have also been placed on high alert to ensure the prompt resolution of public complaints.
The announcement is expected to bring significant relief to Lahore residents during Eid al-Adha, particularly at a time when severe heat has led to a noticeable increase in electricity demand across various parts of the country.
