Lenovo has updated its affordable ThinkPad E series for 2026 with newer Intel Core Ultra processors, higher refresh rate displays, and several practical upgrades.

The refreshed lineup includes the ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E16, two of Lenovo’s popular business laptops. The new models are now available for pre-order in China ahead of their May 27 release.

The ThinkPad E14 comes with a 14-inch 2.8K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Lenovo is also advertising 500 nits of brightness, full sRGB color coverage, an anti-glare coating, and low blue light certification.

The larger ThinkPad E16 features a 16-inch 2.5K display with the same 120Hz refresh rate. However, its brightness is slightly lower at 400 nits.

The E14 measures about 15.25mm thick and weighs around 1.34kg. The E16 is heavier at around 1.63kg.

Lenovo is offering several variants across the lineup, with configurations going up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processors, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage.

Both laptops support PCIe 4.0 SSDs and include dual M.2 slots for storage expansion. They also come with a 64Wh battery, with Lenovo claiming around 13 hours of use depending on workload and configuration.

The port selection remains practical for business users. Both models include Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and a headphone jack.

Lenovo is also keeping the classic ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint setup, which remains one of the key features of the ThinkPad lineup.

The ThinkPad E16 with Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage is priced at about $1,324.

For the ThinkPad E14, the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H model with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at about $1,177. The Intel Core Ultra 5 336H version with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is listed at $1,397, while the Core Ultra 7 356H version with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is listed at $1,765.

Overall, the updated ThinkPad E14 and E16 do not appear to be major redesigns. However, the upgraded displays, newer processors, larger battery, storage expansion, and practical ports make them sensible updates for daily business use.
