Lahore Traffic Police has launched a major crackdown against vehicles with unpaid e-challans, with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi directing strict enforcement against defaulters.

According to the traffic police, a zero-tolerance policy is now in effect to improve traffic discipline across the city. Owners of vehicles with outstanding e-challans will be required to clear all pending fines if their vehicles are stopped during enforcement operations.

Special teams have been deployed on major roads, including Mall Road, Jail Road, Gulberg, Ferozepur Road and Wahdat Road, to identify and take action against defaulters.

Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said several police services have been restricted for e-challan defaulters. Individuals with unpaid fines will not be able to access certain services, including driving license-related facilities, character certificates and verification services.

He added that the Safe City system, Police Khidmat Markaz facilities and the driving license system have been integrated to strengthen enforcement and improve compliance.

Traffic police continue to issue e-challans for a range of violations, including signal violations, lane discipline breaches, one-way violations and vehicles emitting excessive smoke. The CTO also warned that action is being taken against motorists who tamper with vehicle number plates to evade e-challans.

He urged citizens to follow traffic laws, saying an organized traffic system is a shared responsibility and that violators will not escape legal action under the increasingly digitized traffic management system.
