The Lahore Traffic Police has issued a special traffic plan ahead of Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest rallies and sit-in to ensure smooth traffic flow in Mazang and surrounding areas.

According to the traffic police, the protest rallies will reach Mazang and Qurtaba Chowk after 4:00 pm, increasing traffic congestion in the area. Authorities will implement phased traffic diversions from 4:00 pm until sunset in Hamdard Chowk, Mazang, Qurtaba Chowk, and nearby localities.

Motorists traveling from Jain Mandir Lower Mall toward Ichhra have been advised to avoid Lytton Road and instead use Mall Road, Lawrence Road, and Shadman as alternative routes.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to Mazang and Qurtaba Chowk. He also advised commuters to check the latest traffic updates through the 15 helpline and Rasta FM before starting their journey.

The traffic police has deployed three DSPs and more than 100 traffic wardens to manage traffic. Authorities will divert vehicles to alternative routes if traffic pressure increases. The CTO also urged the public to cooperate with traffic wardens and follow the issued traffic instructions.
